You all must have wondered, “Why me?”, “Why is my life so difficult?”, “Why these hardships?”, and many such countless thoughts. These hardships, difficulties, challenges, hurdles, or whatever you picture them to be, drain the energy out of you. They make everything seem difficult. They make you question yourself about life, about your abilities, about your destiny. They make you doubt the decisions that you made earlier. But, the irony is, you need these problems and hardships to grow.
You would have decided to go in a certain direction, try some new things, but then suddenly you faced a challenge and it made you think, if your decision was right. Whether you are going in the right direction? Were you meant to do this? Do you have it in you? And here my friends, many of us quit. Many of us give up and take the easiest way out.
For example: It’s the end of your graduation, and you are thinking of pursuing post grad so that you can get a masters in your field of interest and then rock the world with it. But, as soon as the grad end is approaching, suddenly there is some crisis – financial pressure, family pressure, peer pressure, etc. and all you can think of is your dream shattering.
At that moment, that exact moment, what you need is some internal support. Courage to think about the alternatives; energy and the right state of mind to make a decision. You have to think about, “How else can you achieve your goal?”(A positive statement) instead of “I am unable to pursue it any further” or “conditions won’t allow me” (negative statements).
If you are frustrated and low on energy, you can further ruin it and thus it would seem like the problem has increased. Always remember, ‘Never make permanent decisions over temporary feelings.’ Thus, all you need is “A calm mind”. Further you’ll be exploring a technique which CAN HELP you lighten the burden and chill off a bit.
Many of us refuse to quit. But, somewhere deep inside, we are frustrated, irritated, just hanging on a shred of hope. Hope that it will all end in a few moments, days or months perhaps. But, when it doesn’t end and continues for a while more, majority of the remaining people quit as well. The thing I’ll be telling you will help you move on with it and continue the journey with even greater zeal.
You all would have searched the net, consulted someone you trust, discussed it with your friends about these problems. About how to handle them, what to do? And all you would have heard would be- “Life is hard”, “You have to face hardships to shine”, “It’ll be alright soon”, “and it’s a part of life”. But you know it’s tough, real tough. It will be OK, but when? How will this phase pass? Where can I get the energy from?
Winner is the one who never quits, someone who endures all the pain and hardships. Well, I have something which may help you endure a little longer in your journey. I call it- “Life worth a Biopic.”
I know it sounds foolish and it’s funny, but believe me, IT WORKS. It’s all about mindset and what you feed your mind. You would have always heard- “Aim for the moon, if you miss, you’ll hit a star.” Whenever you face a hardship, a new problem, all you have to do is, instead of being irritated and feeding your mind with the hatred for the problem, just be happy and think- “It’s a new chapter in my story. After being a successful person when I’ll tell these stories, people will think, ‘wow, he has endured so much and yet he achieved all this’. My biopic will be awesome. The more hardships I face, the more interesting my biography/biopic will be.”
This thing will not change your problem, but it will surely lighten the mood and environment. It will surely put a smile across your face and put a shot of confidence in you. It will recharge you and help you to endure it a little longer before giving up. And that ‘little longer’ is all you need. Life hits rock bottom when it is about to bounce back. It’s the signal that the hardships will end.
So to summarize it all, Life is tough, there will be hardships, you cannot do anything about it. All you can do is be positive and not lose your zeal in the process. Think of something funny and feed it to your mind which can help you lighten your mood and see you through it. That funny thing can be, Thinking about your Biopic.:P 😀
I just tried to share my experience and thoughts that help me in tough times, in the hope that it can help someone out there fighting for their dreams, for their future. If you liked it, please share it to the ones it can help. And do leave a feedback.
